People learning English as a second language make mistakes when they apply the grammar of their native language to English. True False

OpenStudy (mikkel900):

You should be able to work that one out. I can give you an example. My first language isn't English, but Danish. Different languages have different grammar. So if I write a sentence in Danish, and then translate it to English, using the same grammar it would usually sound wrong, because the two languages have different grammar. So, I believe that the answer is True, as people make mistakes when learning a new language. Otherwise, all you'd have to do to learn a language was to read a dictionary.
