think about what a colloquialism means

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's basically slang or figures of speech, it'e meant to be taken lightly

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 2 and 4?

OpenStudy (mikkel900):

The way I understand it, it means something informal.. not quite slang, but something related to it. I disagree with @BallsyJr that it's figures of speech - I think it's more informal. For example, when you say "Wanna" rather than Want to.. or when you say Go nuts.. So think about when you would use these kinds of phrases. My guesses would be: Casual Conversation and Friendly letters.
