MEDAL! If 6 cards are drawn at random from a standard deck of 52 cards, what is the probability that exactly 2 of the cards are spades? 0.038 0.200 0.315 0.465 0.747

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think first you find the number of ways to draw 6 cards. Then you find the number of ways 6 cards could have 2 spades.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is a bit more to it the number of ways you can pick 2 out of 13 spades is \(\binom{13}{2}\) and you also have to compute the number of ways you can pick 4 not spades out of the 39 that are not spaces, i.e. \(\binom{39}{4}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then for the denominator it will be the number of ways go pick 6 out of 52, i.e. \(\binom{52}{6}\)
