I need examples of irrational and rational numbers...

OpenStudy (misty1212):

\[\sqrt{a}\] is irrational if \(a\) is not already a square like for example \(\sqrt2,\sqrt3,\sqrt5\) whatever

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

OpenStudy (misty1212):

any whole number, integer, or fraction is rational

OpenStudy (misty1212):

for example \(\frac{1}{2}\) or \(-3\)

OpenStudy (misty1212):

@BellaNina865 that is a good picture for showing subsets, but a very misleading picture as far as the amount of each type of number there is almost all numbers are irrationals, hardly any are rational numbers like fractions and such

Thank you

OpenStudy (misty1212):

you are welcome @BellaNina865
