Place a point A on the piece of paper. Fix the compass at point A and draw a circle. Draw a diameter BC of this circle. Fix the compass at point B and draw two arcs: one below line segment BC and one above. Then fix the compass at point C and draw two arcs with the same radius as arcs from point B, that intersect arcs from point B at points M and Q. Draw a line MQ that intersects the circle at points H and N. Join points B and H, H and C, C and N, N and B. The resulting figure is the square BHCN. square
