I cannot help you with the detail of the code - however it is my experience that the most likely source of the problem is not the computer's lack of co-operation! :-)

I think it might be due to the fact that "close" already exists and you aren't being allowed to redefine it. That is one guess. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Window.close

Remember that any global variable named `someName`, gets translated to `window.someName`.
