HELP WITH SOME QUESTIONS PLEASE, I WILL MEDAL AND FAN

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

no need fanning me, but I won't post an instant perfect explanation with answers for every little thing....

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Okay, what have you attempted? Did you solve any of the problems?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I honestly did not this is my 1st time doing this see i'm in a rush because you know my session is soon running out lol

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

okay, for the first question, I will give you a little hint: face card is a card that has a human face pictured (basically) drawing a queen means also drawing out a card that is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A i think it would be a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm probably wrong lol

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

mutually exclusive means that 2 events exclude each other: ~ if it is a queen (event A), then it won't be a face card (event B) ~ if it is a face card (event B), then it won't be a queen (event A)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Can you tell me though, is queen a face card, or not?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would say its a face card

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

yes, so which option do you then choose for your answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

yes,

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

furthermore, they are not only, not "mutually exclusive" saying that: if you draw a queen, that not necessarily will it be a face card but even more, if you draw a queen then you draw a face card also, can't avoid that. and vica verse. anyway lets go to number 2...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you!

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

okay, lets do the second problem. there are 8 regions. 4 of them dark and the other (5th one) is a 2. (just what you need).

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

So, can you answer your question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

try it...;)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

if you need help, ask...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you mean you got the test wrong

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

you have 5 regions to land the arrow, (4 dark regions, and the region with a 2) you have 8 regions altogether. try again please.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

if you made an 81 on the test, then your probability would be 81/100, (because you are taking the probability out of the overall 100) you need the arrow to land on 4 dark regions or on the region with a 2. (saying 5 regions) and this all is out of 8 regions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I keep getting a or d?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

you are counting the probability that it will land on the needed regions. (you are fine with it landing on either one of the 5 regions listed below) listed: ~4 dark regions ~the "2" region you have 8 regions, so what is the probability that it will land on one of those 5 that you want?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so that = 5/8 so C

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

yes, exactly

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

now I can close the first attachment:D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you again!

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

no problem

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

can you do number 3? if you can't ask me, and I will help you through it....

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

if you need hints, say so)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it would be great if you could help me through it plz

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

yes: I will rephrase the question/ you have 8 regions altogether (again) you want the arrow to fall on either "1" "3" or "6" region. what is the probability that it will land on either one of the 3 indicated regions?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

stuck on this one, or need a bit more time?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Am i right

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

yes, you are!

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

we can close the 3rd question as well:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep!

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

now question 4. ~ you have a ""cube"" (not really a cube, but a weird dice... whatever it might be) that has 12 options to land on: 1, 2, 3, 4, ... ... 10, 11, 12.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

you need it to land on EITHER, an even number, OR 7.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

so there are 6 even numbers (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12) and a 7. (So 7 things you are fine to land it on) and 12 numbers altogether. what is your answer? (if stuck, then reply...)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

yes yes !!!

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

we are done with 4 questions... now the 5th.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep!!

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

the 5th problem is seemingly very hard. But actually not very..... you need a marble that is: ~ of a diameter 20 (saying: labeled with green on the diagram as opposed to blue). ~ and of a white or red color.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

first tell me the number of all the marbles (of all diameters and all colors) together.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This one im kinda stuck

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

yeah, we will do this one, and you will appreciate how easy it actually is....don't worry

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

tell me the total number of ALL marbles please.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you haha :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok how do i find the total

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

okay you can look at each color. you can see (on the diagram) that there are 70 BLUE marbles altogther, corrrect?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

(tyops, sorry)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Right

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

yes, and now, you can see how many marbles of each color there is. and then add the numbers up

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

add the total numbers of marbles for each color, to get the total number of marbles (altogether).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 300

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

yes, there you go!

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

now, ~ How many RED marbles with a 20mm diameter are there? ~ How many WHITE marbles with a 20mm diameter are there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Red = 200

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

you mean 20?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes im sorry i got confused

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

anyways, it's okay...

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

now, how many white marbles with a 20mm diameter are there?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

stuck?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes lol
