I will give medal!!! Which of the following has the longest half-life? Carbon-14 Uranium-235 Uranium-238 Carbon-12

@iambatman

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Any idea?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe its either c or d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We can get rid of carbon 14 since we know it has the shortest

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're on the right track, keep going

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait i mean b or c because I don't think Carbon-12 is radioactive, so it doesn't have a half-life

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Right!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Keep going, you seem to be doing good!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@iambatman

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Uranium-238 has a half-life of 4.468 billion years. Uranium-235 has a half life of 703,800,000 years (703.8 million years)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not exactly sure of the times, but it could be that, so then your answer will be? :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

uranium-238

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Good! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can google half life of these elements, so I just did Uranium 238 and got 4.5 billion years Uranium 238 is 700 million years, so you were right!
