quick question? help please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its my first time applying for a job, it's asking me what should i put for the salary desired? should i put my state minimum wage?

OpenStudy (bibby):

that's a bad idea, they might lowball you. find out what people working similar jobs make at that place. and other places too.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you mean by lowball? if you don't mind me asking and my sister works at a pizza place she makes around $8.45 an hour.. but my state minimum wage is 7.25

OpenStudy (bibby):

lowball meaning paying you lower than normal they might pay you 7.50 instead of 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so should i put 7.25, 7.50 or 8.45?

OpenStudy (bibby):

I still don't know what job you're applying for is it a pizza place too?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im applying at applebees as a host/hostess

OpenStudy (bibby):

look around for what hostesses make so that you can justifiably walk into an interview and tell them I deserve making X amount of dollars an hour

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i've been doing that for the past hour, i looked on glassdoor and saw they pay 9.00 but that is in different states so now i am just confused as what i should put

OpenStudy (bibby):

hmm, what state are you in?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wisconsin

OpenStudy (bibby):

go for something around 8.50, I guess

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thanks i'll give it a try

OpenStudy (bibby):

good luck getting the job if you ever need a sugar daddy I'm here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

looool okay

OpenStudy (bibby):

damn that was easy
