find a quadratic equation with roots-1+4i and -1-4i

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

multply (x-(-1+4i))*(x+(-1-4i))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[ (x-(-1+4i))(x-(-1-4i)) \]

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Hi @wio :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hey

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Don't mind me, I'm just doing some work on my case study. Continue with what you're doing here :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is rather hard to multiply that out it might be easier to know that the quadratic with zeros \(a\pm bi\) is \[x^2-2ax+2^2+b^2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops make that \[x^2-2ax+a^2+b^2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. Multiply.

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

Lmao.

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

This is where Vieta's formula can be applied? :o
