Can a person who is ill receive an organ donation from anyone? Explain how you know.
negative. organ donation is tricky. you have to be a perfect match otherwise the recipient's body will refuse the transplant and end up wasting an organ.
its like blood transfusions, you cant just mix A and B and AB blood etc
No, just because someone is sick does not mean ANY organ will have to do. In order to have an organ implanted there must be a match, this is a delicate process because if you do not implant an organ that matches you, your body will reject the organ and in result your body will start to attack that organ because to your body it is considered an 'impostor'. This is often why it is common for family members to donate an organ like a kidney to other family members because they are more likely to be a match (similar blood type, etc.) Not everyone can donate an organ. For example if you have had cancer in the past donating an organ would not be 'allowed' technically. It's the same with donating blood, if you have had cancer before they would not be allowed to take your blood.
