So i am writing an essay to apply to the IB prgram. I have less than one page to write it. I really don't know how to start it. I am horrible writing essays about myself. The prompt is: Select one attribute that you feel is you r strength.(principled) and one attribute you would most like to develop over the next four years.(open minded).

Also, make sure you have a set thesis to begin and end with in your opening and closing paragraphs. By thesis I mean a sentence that sets the main topic of what attribute you've chosen to display about yourself, this will make your essay more organized and professionally set.

this may be cheesy but i recommend that you try to be yourself. for this specific prompt i suggest you reflect in the writing and perhaps, if your can, write about an experience you've had that made you choose this attribute. make sure it is formal.

i dont know what the IB program is but as for a thesis only use one if its a research paper.

either way you have to come up with a good hook. Personally i like starting out with sensory things like smell or touch even taiste but there are several ways to do it. it also depends on your topic
