Part A: Explain why we do not measure the speed at which a car travels in cm per second? In your explanation, use reasoning based on appropriate units to model this situation. Part B: What are the two quantities that should be measured to find the speed at which a car travels? Explain how the rate can be determined.

@dtan5457

OpenStudy (sparklestaraa):

its 5 points and i don't understand it :(

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

PART A: it's logical. if a car was traveling 50 mph, would we want to say it travels 8046720 centimeters an hour>

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

Part b: the quantity must be in mph, and can be converted based on what unit they give you. 8046720cm=50 mph with conversion

OpenStudy (sparklestaraa):

so would the 2 quantitates be miles and how many hours.

OpenStudy (sparklestaraa):

*quantities

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

2 quantities: logical measurments of the unit of time, distance

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

which would be hours, miles

OpenStudy (sparklestaraa):

and how can the rate be converted ?

OpenStudy (sparklestaraa):

@dtan5457

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

based on unit of measurements. for example 5280ft=1mile

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

im sure some people do....
