Find the area of the figure. Assume that all angles are right angles 1200 square inches 1100 square inches 1000 square inches 980 square inches

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

Cut this into 3 figures

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

2 squares, one rectangle.

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

Both squares (left and right of the figure) are 20 by 20

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

20 times 20=400 2 squares=800, now just find the rectangle's area

OpenStudy (math&ing001):

Hello, do you know how to find the area of a rectangle ? You could find the area of the big triangle 20*60 then subtract the area of the small rectangle from it 10*20.

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

The rectangle has a height of 10, when you subtract the 20-10 from the square. TOTAL LENGTH:60 2 square take 40 of that, therefore the rectangle's length is 20. 20 times 10=200, add that to the area of the 2 squares

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

and you get your answer which is ________?

OpenStudy (math&ing001):

aka Area = 20*60 - 10*20

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

@Deadroc9 What's 800+200?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh okay so it is 1000

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

Yep ^
