The Furniture Maker produces chairs and tables. The company will create furniture for 9 hours each day. Each chair takes a half hour to complete and each table takes one hour to complete. For each table that is created, four chairs must be produced and vice versa. Each chair will produce $75 profit and each table will produce $125 profit. What is the maximum profit that the company can make in one day? $325 $500 $650 $850

I would love to know how to solve this....can't seem to make the right system of equations..

OpenStudy (paxpolaris):

??? i'm getting 1275 .... weird question...

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

"For each table that is created, four chairs must be produced and vice versa" does that mean every chair is 4 tables?? WHAT???

OpenStudy (paxpolaris):

no i think it just trying to say: evaery table must have 4 chairs ... and every 4 chairs must have 1 table. it takes 3 hours to create 1 set of (1 table + 4 chairs) each set gives you $425 profit in 9 hours you can make 3 set so profit is $425*3 = $1275

OpenStudy (paxpolaris):

if it was just 8 hours .... then you didn't have enough time to make a 3rd complete set .... so profit is $425*2 = $850

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

so basically the answer choices are incorrect?

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

I see what you did though^

Hmm .. Thank you both . (: @dtan5457 @PaxPolaris
