Describe the diffusion pattern of Christianity. Why did Christianity take hold in some places but not in others?

OpenStudy (taylor<3srin):

Okay first thing, lets take a place such as India, what religion is dominant there, and why?

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Islam?

OpenStudy (taylor<3srin):

Yeah, and Hinduism. But why are these two religions dominant? Because there is a strong sense of tradition there with ties to these faiths. However, this is not the only factor that contributes to the spread of religion. Throughout history places have been conquered and or colonized. The people who "move in" to these places bring their religions with them sometimes, or the conquering power will force the religion on to the people.

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Could you help me on 2 more?

OpenStudy (taylor<3srin):

No problem, but site rules make us have to start a new question.

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Ok
