so is lets say the third line the third energy level?

Spectral lines basically show transition of electron from one energy level to another energy level. |dw:1419931871582:dw|

So 1st line means a transition of electron from 2nd level to 1st level. Similarly, 3rd line means transition of electron from 4th level to 1st level.
