@DanJS

OpenStudy (danjs):

do you remember the sum of the interior angles of a n sided polygon?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

108 ?

OpenStudy (danjs):

n + 6 + n will equal the sum of the interior angles minus all the other given angles

OpenStudy (danjs):

sum of interior angles = 180*(n-2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yeaa sorry 180

hartnn (hartnn):

keep this as a reference http://www.mathsisfun.com/geometry/interior-angles-polygons.html

OpenStudy (danjs):

The total of all the interior angles , is 720 for a 6 sided polygon

OpenStudy (danjs):

It is easy to figure out if you forget the formula, by drawing triangles in the polygon, and remembering each triangle adds to 180

OpenStudy (danjs):

135 + 62 + 151 + 140 + n + (n+6) = 720 find n

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok hold on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2n + 494 = 720 2n = 720 - 494 2n = 226 n = 113

OpenStudy (danjs):

looks good

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks again :)

OpenStudy (danjs):

welcome

OpenStudy (danjs):

@Addicto_ remember the answer is looking for n+6, so it will be 119

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh so its not 113? @DanJS

OpenStudy (danjs):

you found that n=113, the question asks you what is n+6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh i get it now

OpenStudy (danjs):

just caught that, wanted to make sure you got it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks so much!

OpenStudy (danjs):

yep
