Which of the following points lie in the solutions set to the following system of inequalities? 2x + y > 8 x − y < 2 A.(2, -5) B.(2, -5) C.(2, 5) D.(-2, -5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Take each point and plug it into the equations and solve. If both equations are true, that is the point that lies in the solution. OR plot the equation onto a Cartesian plane and check each point

OpenStudy (igreen):

Cartesian plane..? No..you can just use a regular plane.

OpenStudy (igreen):

So which point lies in the overlapped area? @mcfizzy321

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@iGreen what do you call a regular plane?

OpenStudy (igreen):

Oh..nevermind..I thought you were talking about the 3D plane..with x, y, and z..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is point A true or false for: 2x + y > 8 x - y < 2 A: (2, -5) 2(2) + (-5) > 8 <----True or False 2 - (-5) < 2 <----- True or False both needs to be true if it is a point we need.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

both the methods are correct.
