In this case you should multiply the hourly rate ($/hours) by the number of hours of the service that was used, in this case 3 hours. Then multiply by the tip percentage (.20). Does that make sense to you?

In other words, $70 * 3hours = $210 This is the total charge The tip is .20 therefore $210 * .20 =42 now add the two 210 +42 = 252
