the two triangles are similar, because of the parallel lines, you can show that all 3 angles are the same for both triangles
15 is to 2x-9 as 20 is to x+2

yeah you can do the cross multiply thing... 15(x + 2) = 20(2x + 9)
I copied from the diagram wrong, it is (2x - 9) not plus 9
15(x + 2) = 20(2x - 9)
distributing, 15x + 30 = 40x - 180
take away 15x both sides 30 = 25x - 180
add 180 210 = 25x
