What is the range of y = 5x -2 if the domain is {-3, -1, 0, 1, 3}? {-13, -3, 2, 3, 13} {12, 3, 0, 3, 13} {-17, -7, -2, 3, 13}

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

please, note that if i substitute x=-3, into your function, I will get this: \[y=f(-3)=5*(-3)-2=-15-2=-17\] so, please do the same with the remaining values of x

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

oops..I call \[y=f(x)=5x-2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

no, I don't think, because -17 doesn't belong to the set in B

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

yes! I think it is C

ty happy new year!

OpenStudy (michele_laino):
