OpenStudy (batman31):

I am totally stuck and can't think of a word. if it is the opposite, like for example, the ____ of the reflexive property of equality. Like you use the theorem or postulate backwards.

@sithsandgiggles

Directrix (directrix):

Converse

Directrix (directrix):

If p implies q, then the converse of that is q implies p.

Directrix (directrix):

I have not heard of a converse of the Reflexive property. Could you be thinking of the Symmetric property.@BATMAN31

Directrix (directrix):

@BATMAN31

OpenStudy (freckles):

I do not understand the question kinda.

OpenStudy (batman31):

thanks, I am tired and had a brain fart.

OpenStudy (batman31):

here's your medal for putting up with me

OpenStudy (freckles):

p->q is equivalent to not q->not p these statements are contrapositives of each other

OpenStudy (freckles):

But anyways I'm not really sure what you are saying or asking.

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

what about the irreflexive property ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Given \(p\implies q\), you have \[\begin{array}{l|c} \text{Inverse}&\neg p\implies \neg q\\ \hline \text{Converse}&q\implies p\\ \hline \text{Contrapositive}&\neg q\implies \neg p \end{array}\]
