please help :)

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

what two types of frictions resist a freight train that speeds along the railroad tracks at 150 km/hr

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

check this page out http://www.tutorvista.com/physics/4-types-of-friction

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

keep in mind that this train is moving, and it's moving very fast so it's not just starting (there is no way a train can accelerate that fast)

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

is it kinetic since it's moving idk the second one

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

thanks :) @jim_thompson5910

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

no it's actually not kinetic

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

kinetic is just for when the object is starting to move

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

ohh then i think its fluid

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yeah because the air it encounters slows it down

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

air is considered a fluid in physics & engineering because the particles move in a fluid-like motion

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

thanks u soo much wish i could medal u more than once lol

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

it's fine, I'm glad I could help
