HELP PLEASE
@iGreen @SolomonZelman @TheSmartOne
ohh wait is the negative real roots 3,1
GUYS DO YOU NOT KNOW DECARTES RULE OF SIGHNS
yes
At least your honest
What is it you don't understand? If you click on the button I haven't learned this yet it will show you correct?
no it will just move on and i will loose points
Here is a good site if you don't understand the rules. Note, it will only tell you how many roots there are and not give you the roots. http://www.purplemath.com/modules/drofsign.htm If you just want to know how many roots there are you can just put that equation into this site and it will tell you. http://www.wolframalpha.com/
@mathgirl2012 There is only 1 sign change in Q(x) so your possible number of positive real roots is correct. Please re-think the number of negative real root possibilities.
3,1 negative
Replace the x in Q(x) by (-x) and crank out Q(-x). Then, count the sign changes. The number of negative real root possibilites = the number of sign changes or less that by 2.
>3,1 negative This is what I got, too.
Here is the link that shows you the roots from Wolfram http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=roots+of+Q%28x%29+%3D+-8x%5E4+%2B+-8x%5E3+-+3x%5E2+-+2x+%2B+4 It might be useful in the future.
can you guys help me on my next problem open algebra and it is the first one
