C. substitute them into the equation and it makes the equation true

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

@Angel_Bear19 that would work..but what would you do if you didnt have answer choices?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You would have to subtract y from both sides and figure out the value of x then substitute x in the problem to figure out y

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

1.multiply top equation by 3 2.add the equations canceling the y's 3.solve for x 4.sub x value into any equation to get y

OpenStudy (zale101):

after you get the equation, solve for y, and plug it back to the equation to get for x

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

3(5x+y=12) 3x-3y=18 15x+3y=36 +3x-3y=18 ------------ 18x=54

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no wait C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, it is C

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

yep, that is right

OpenStudy (triciaal):

yes

thanks!
