What are all the forces acting on an elevator as it moves upward from rest and stops at its floor?

OpenStudy (lasttccasey):

Friction of the rails, weight of the elevator (gravitational), tension of the cables pulling the elevator up, air resistance, maybe some small normal forces in the horizontal direction. Though you wouldn't quite consider all of these in standard calculations.

You were given a lot of information from the comment above, now try relating it to a drawing and try to imagine how it would be when it's at rest and when it starts moving upward.
