When they are on a post when someone gives direct answers, they just tell me to report them. And I tell them "why don't you just take care of it since you're already on the post?"

The users that have a green smartscore they are NOT the moderators. Moderators are in purple for example like @abhisar so I think you're getting the moderator and the ones that have a green color wrong.

In that case, the user can be community suspended. If 3 report the same exact user for the same exact issue, the user can be community suspended. The moderators think that if you're smartscore is above 30(if not mistaking) then you absolutely know that Direct Answers are aginast the Code-of-Conduct.

If you let the user know, the user will delete his messages. If the user doesn't, then tell her/him to take down the answer.

Great! :D My personal opinion to everyone that notices this:
Since a new year started, why not everyone just takes a deep breath start the page over on OS. Ignore the ones that treat you wrong. Life is life. No one promised life would be easy. You'll meet everything in life, on your journey on OpenStudy. 101, so the whole point is, Moderators don't ignore. Beleive me. There are some that really do care about it.

You don't always have to resolve the issue by suspending, there could be 'warnings' too. Or talk it through with the user. It all depends on how bad the issue is. What if a user doesn't know that it is wrong, or somehow forgot, the mods will just suspend him or her as soon as their is a report? Mods don't just suspend every uses based on every report, their could be wrong reports, reports that aren't bad enuf to get suspended for, or reports that are plain bad. So, they'll look through it instead. Talk through, warnings, suspensions. Not only suspensions.

I think if someone is sitting there watching for every abuse report they file, they should ask themselves why they are doing that. I cannot believe that you don't have more productive things to do, whether on OpenStudy or elsewhere, than sit and see whether you can make a note about mods not doing the job you think they should be doing.

If there's a place the process had gone wrong, it's in volume. The volume of users has gone up drastically, and until recently we hadn't appointed any more new mods. But now many new mods have been appointed and the situation is really better.

I hope you take my last comment positively, that was not supposed to be rude. I am very glad that you do care that no body breaks CoC but I am saying this gain that whenever you find someone breaching the rules, report them and just move on. The last sentence so true. Not even in real life either. No one should be able to make you mad! When you show frustration, other people will keep it up to annoy you! But if you ignore them, then they will see that you don't care and will stop. This will not really apply to new users but for old users who have been here for a long time it should help!
