How many golf balls will fit in a suitcase? Any size is okay! Fermi problem!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@marki do you get this one too? :)

OpenStudy (lasttccasey):

What is Fermi?

Definition of a Fermi Problem: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fermi_problem They are basically more challenging problems based on your estimation skills.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay, not sure how to do that with this problem though! :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok lets consider medium size , its is fitting 64kg man with lets say 172 m height and 60 cm waist (minimum) so like cylindrical with 60*172 volume lets say each 5*5 volume can have 1 ball then 60*172 can fit (60*172/5*5)=412.8=413 ball

OpenStudy (anonymous):

172 cm not m *

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh okay so you just find the volume and then calculate to get 413 golf balls? :O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait
