If the length of a rectangle is increasing at the rate of 7 cm/sec and the width of the rectangle is decreasing at the rate of 7 cm/sec, then which of the following best describes the change in area when the length is greater than the width?

I did A = lw dA/dt = l(dw/dt) + w(dl/dt) dA/dt = (-7)w + (7)l There is more gain than lose; so dA/dt is increasing. But I have two answer choices that say "always increasing' and "increasing then decreasing". How do I know if the function will ever decrease>
