2. Mr. Cooper’s company rents storage containers to customers. The customers can choose which size fits their needs and Cooper Storage delivers the containers. After the customers fill the containers, the company transports them to a warehouse to be stored until the customer needs the contents. (a) The volume for one size of the storage containers is 574 ft3. The container has a length of 10 ft and a width of 7 ft. How tall would a stack of 6 containers be if they were stacked one on top of another?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Utterly_Confuzzled

OpenStudy (crashonce):

ok first find the height of one container by using the formula for a prism

OpenStudy (crashonce):

@AwesomeSays3! find the height of one

OpenStudy (utterly_confuzzled):

V=wlh 574=(10)*(7)*h Use that to solve for the height of one container

OpenStudy (crashonce):

use @Utterly_Confuzzled 's statement

OpenStudy (crashonce):

once you get 'h', multiply by 6 to get the total height :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is th hieght?

OpenStudy (crashonce):

refer to utterly confuzzled's comment

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok but i dont get what is the hiehgt

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:/

OpenStudy (crashonce):

ok simplify the statement: 574=70h agree?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (crashonce):

then the height is just 574/70

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (crashonce):

or 8.2

OpenStudy (crashonce):

so the height of 6 is 8.2x6 or 49.2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the hieght is 49.2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its 3444

OpenStudy (crashonce):

the height of one is 8.2

OpenStudy (crashonce):

the total is 49.2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then i multiply it by 70?

OpenStudy (utterly_confuzzled):

No. Your answer is just 49.2 no need to multiply it by anything

OpenStudy (crashonce):

no its ur final answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thx who should i medal :P

OpenStudy (crashonce):

ur choice

OpenStudy (utterly_confuzzled):

Crashonce deserves it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how about i medal Crashone and Crashone medals utterly_confuzzled

OpenStudy (crashonce):

done
