I recommend you graph the two functions. If you don't have a graphing calculator, you can use something like desmos https://www.desmos.com/calculator/

in general y = a(x-b)^2 + c a - will squish the graph or stretch it out b - move it sideways depending on + b or -b c - will move it up or down depending on sign
