Can someone tell me about the compares and contrasts the ways in which China and Japan responded to the West and describes how each nation’s decision to respond to the West affected its domestic and foreign affairs in the years that followed??? - I'm taking this pre pre test study sheet thing. And this information is needed for a part of a long essay i have to write. If someone/s could give me information about this it would be very helpful! Thank you if you can.

OpenStudy (snowxangel):

What was the lesson about

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the nationalism of china

OpenStudy (snowxangel):

have you tried researching the topic

OpenStudy (snowxangel):

or actually read the lesson

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i cannot find anything about it

OpenStudy (snowxangel):

What class is this for

OpenStudy (anonymous):

modern world studies. ok i think I'm figuring stuff out. i only have this to start it:. "The rest of mankind are the carving knife…while we are the fish and the meat." That is how one Chinese leader summed up what appeared to be the fate of China at the turn of the century. The result of China's response to interest in their country by Western imperial powers was forced trade agreements, humiliating military defeats, and a crushed rebellion. It would take the courage and perseverance of many Chinese leaders, including Sun Yat-sen, to turn the tide.

OpenStudy (snowxangel):

you're a very good writer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha thanks. my only good quality in school lol

OpenStudy (snowxangel):

same, well tbh I think with some research you should do fine

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (snowxangel):

just relax and take things one at a time and you'll do great. don't put too much stress on yourself next time lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Should i have an intro and conclusion and 3 paragraphs for an essay?

OpenStudy (snowxangel):

Yeah that's usually how an essay is set up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know why most industrialized nations of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries competed for overseas colonies

OpenStudy (snowxangel):

imperialism, so they can become a world power
