Break the word down: e - lucid - ation "e" = Latin prefix, from "ex" E/Ex has many meanings in Latin, mostly commonly "out of"/"from" "lucid" = Latin root, from the adjective "lucidus" meaning "clear" This root is related to the Latin noun "lux, lucis" (light). Unless this is for Latin class, either answer should suffice. "Lux" is a more common root word than "lucidus"
