What is the difference and similarities of Elected officials and appointed Judges? Please help Asap. Thank you

Well, I know that with appointed judges their decisions are fair rather than to please the people like elected officials. The judges do not need to sway their decisions just to be put back into a office. The elected officials though will most likely do what will please the people that elected them into office in the first place. Therefore they will only concern themselves with the will of the people instead of what the judge looks to, justice and law. 
I'm not sure if that's clear or not. I'm trying to catch up on things so I'm not sure on most things at this point.
