In the basketball game, Sarah made three times as many 2-point shots as 3-point shots. She made 8 shots in all. How many 2-point shots did she make? please help it makes no sense

3x=2point shots
x+3x=8
solve for x then multiply by 3 to find out how many 2 point shots she made?
