OpenStudy (acxbox22):
she paid x for 9 towels witha total of 54.90
you are multiplying 9 by x to find total price
OpenStudy (jordanloveangel):
@SolomonZelman im thinking B or C
OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):
@acxbox22 explained how to do it. so 9x=54.90...do you understand what we did there?
OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):
x is how much each towel is worth, correct? And to get the total cost for them, we multiply how many towels were purchased by how much they cost.
OpenStudy (jordanloveangel):
494.1 is wut u get

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):
no....how did you get that?
OpenStudy (jordanloveangel):
54.90*9=494.1
OpenStudy (jordanloveangel):
i think its b right?
OpenStudy (acxbox22):
you are not multiplying the total by the number of towels, you are multiplying x by the number of towels o get the total
x is the price for one towel
OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):
it would be 9x=54.90 like we said, but if you were wanting to find how much each one would cost, then you would divide 54.90 by 9.... it is just asking for the equation so you don't need to multiply anything :P since she paid 54.90 for 9 bath towels, that means total not per towel :)
