OpenStudy (mylahb):

solve using factoring: x^2-3x-18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(x + 3) • (x - 6)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(x+3)(x-6)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To do this problem x^2-3x-18 we can ask our self two numbers that are the product of -18, meaning what times what equals 18 and ask our self if the two numbers are the sum of -3, which is the middle number. So 3 times -6 = -18 and 3 + (-6) = -3 This means 3 and -6 will work. Now just split the x^2. So we get (x+3)(x-6)
