What is the relationship between the lines determined by the following two equations? 6x – 2y = 16 y = 3x – 8

OpenStudy (zpupster):

it is better to see the relationship if you can put them in the same form try slope intercept form y = mx+b the 2nd equation is already in that form. subtract 6x both sides in first eq. then divide all terms by -2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@zpupster is right, once they are both in the same form, it is easy to see that 6x-2y=16 is just y=3x-8 multiplied by 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

arallel perpendicular neither parallel nor perpendicular they are the same line these are the answer options. so?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they are the same line

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thats what i answered. how about this one.. Select the equation of the line that passes through the point (2, –1) and has slope 3 in point-slope form.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the point is (2, -1) haha (even u just see question marks)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if* not even lol
