Solve the system of equations. x-4y=5 x=3y-2 (___,___)

OpenStudy (itsbribro):

@AlexandervonHumboldt2

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

the way the equations are written substitution is the easiest method replace x in the 1st equation with 3y - 2, which comes from the 2nd equation

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

then you have to collect like terms and solve for y. does that make sense?

OpenStudy (itsbribro):

umm kinda but not really

Nnesha (nnesha):

there 4 ways to do this kinda problem elimination substitution for this method you have to solve one of equation for one variable and substitute that into 2nd equation graphing and matrices the equation you have there is 2nd equation already solved for one variable which is x so replace x which is in first equation by x values

OpenStudy (itsbribro):

what am i replacing x with?
