OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

At what age do people start considering suicide? I'm doing a case study on bullying & suicide.

OpenStudy (kittiwitti1):

@TheSmartOne > _>?

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Well I don't know anything about this ._. But I would assume it would be from like 10+ Because kids don't know what the wor dusicide is at a young age. And are not even capable of carrying it out.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Children as young as 6 or 7 years old can commit suicide, in the sense that they can kill themselves, through their own actions alone. In 2010, a 6 year old girl in Portland, Oregon died by hanging herself with a belt. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1264617/Girl-6-sent-room-punishment-youngest-people-committed-suicide-US.html Most psychologists agree that children don't know that death is final and irreversible, until they're anywhere from 8 to 10 years old. So, would you only call it "suicide" if the person knows that death is permanent? Maybe.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Most people start to be "suicidal" around their teen to early adult years. So around 12 to 25. There is a greater rate of teens and young adults who commit suicide, rather than younger children or adults.

Oh hey, I've actually replied to a post that even InMyHead replied to x'D
