Aaron wants to plant an orchard of apple trees. Based upon what he has studied, he can expect that 90% of the trees he plants will survive the first year. Of those that survive the first year, he can expect that 95% will survive permanently. If he is going to plant 300 trees this spring and another 500 the following spring, how many trees should he expect to have in his orchard permanently?
we need to do it step by step he plants 300 the first year and 90% survive, how many survive?
@angelinaantonucci thanks for the medal, but i really just wanted and answer to the question what is 90% of 300? if you do not know i will tell you
it's a little bit tricky, the answer is 683
i get \(684\)
hehehe... since it is a tree, hence only the whole one is counted as "living". Although the answer is 684 but you have to add 0.5 + 0.5 for the 2 springs, right? but 0.5 tree is NOT a living one. right?
