OpenStudy (misty1212):

where?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 258.96

OpenStudy (misty1212):

i would do \(31\times 12-36\times \pi\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first find the area of the whole things do \[a = l \times b\]

OpenStudy (misty1212):

you get \(258.96\) if you use \(3.14\) so you are right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 327 for the rectangle

OpenStudy (misty1212):

you have the right answer good work

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and 113.04 for the area of the circle

OpenStudy (misty1212):

i cheated and did this http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=31*12-36*3.14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I multiplied 3.14 by the radius to get the area?

OpenStudy (misty1212):

the square of the radius, not the radius

OpenStudy (misty1212):

\[36\times 3.14\] is what they want anyways, you have the right answer at the beginning, so you must have done something right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have to include pie in my answer
