OpenStudy (callisto):

For similar figures, (ratio of similar sides)^2 = (ratio of the area)

OpenStudy (callisto):

So \[\text{Area of ABCD : Area of EFGH} = (\text{AB:EF})^2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1:6)^2 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

perimeter EFGH = 108 ABCD perimeter= 18

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

you got 108 by multiplying 18 with the scale factor 6 ?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

that looks good!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

18 * 6 = 108 :)

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

i think we can say all "corresponding lengths" scale by same factor when shapes are similar perimeter is also a length
