A contractor takes 4/12 days to build 3/4 of a deck. Complete the unit rate.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i want to understand how to do it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Devide 3/4 by 4 to start off with

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 3/16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then that will giv u how much he built in one day

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so that would be 0.1875

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now figure out how long it will take him to build the whole thing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It took him 1 1/3 days to build 1/4 of the deck So that means it will take him 5 1/3 days to build the whole thing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha mental math.1 1/3 times 3 is 4 plus another 1 1/3 day and I got 5 1/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I do a lot of mental math

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its 5.33?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then youd round to get 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k thanks so much
