OpenStudy (.whitedragon.):

The number of bacteria in a colony, B, after t hours is B = a · 2t, where a is the number of bacteria in the colony at t = 0. If the value of a quadruples, how does this affect the value of B at time t?

OpenStudy (mathmate):

Is the equation in exponent form ? \(B(t)=a(2^t)\)

OpenStudy (.whitedragon.):

Increases by a factor of 2 Increases by a factor of 4 Decreases by a factor of 4 Decreases by a factor of sqr rt of 2

OpenStudy (mathmate):

I am trying to confirm the equation, the t is the exponent of 2, and not multiplied. @.WhiteDragon.

OpenStudy (.whitedragon.):

??

OpenStudy (mathmate):

This is what you posted : B = a · 2t I suspect that it should read: \(B(t)=a~2^t\), i.e. the t should be an exponent. Can you check if there was a typo?

OpenStudy (jose_alamo32):

increases by a factor of 4.
