Help Please!!!!!!!! Ill Give Medal!!!!!! Which sets include only like terms? Choose all answers that are correct. A. { -3abc, -4.9ac, -2b, -1/8abc } B. { -1.24jk, 17jk, 9jk, 4/5jk } C. { 7m, 213p, -22p, 3m } D. { 0.25x, 5x, -13.2x, 1/3x }
Do you know what like terms are at all?
ya.... but i still need help with it i have like 5 questions i need to do this is the first one
It's D because all of the numbers have "x" after them, which is their like term in this case. If all the numbers have the same variable, or no variables, after them, then they have like terms. Does that make sense?
ya it makes sense but this question u choose more that one answer :P
Sorry, then it would be B and D because B has "jk" at the end of all of them, and D has "x" at the end of all of them. My bad lol
lol its k :)
can u help me with some more??
Mhm, suree
:) kk thanks
The term 25ab and which other term are like terms? A. 25 B. 24a C. 5ba D. 10b
None because no answers have ab after them..?
.... it has to be one of them ....
Okay, did you type all of the answers/question correctly..?
yes
i copy n pasted it so i couldn't have typed it in wrong
Okay, I'm going to say C. 5ba because the order of the variables doesn't matter. When multiplying, the order doesn't matter, as long as the number, letters, and amount of the variables stay the same. Does that make sense?
ya
Okie dokie
Combine like terms. 8 + 16r – 9r A. 8 + 7r B. 15r C. 15 D. 8 – 7r
D 8 - 7r
Why did you pick D? Because I got A. 16-9 is +7, not -7. So that's how I got 8+7r
no...combine like terms pay attention to your signs
vangoo...I wasn't talking to you...yours is correct
haha no no i said the D again cause these little things popped up instead of the -
Ohhh, okay. Well, do you understand how to get the answer?
not really can u tell me how u got A???
Okay, first off, do you know the like terms in this equation?
16 r n 9 r??
Yes! So now, pay attention to the sign in between them. What does it tell you to do?
that u r subtracting..??
Yepp. So, what is 16r-9r?
7
Okay, so don't forget the variable: it would be 7r. Now, your equation would be 9+7r. Can you do anything else to this equation? Or is it in its simplest form?
8+7r my bad lol
bk n lol its k
Wb, and okie dokie. Do you understand now? o.e
ya sorta
Combine like terms. 7/8x - 1/2x A. 1/8x B. 3/8 C. 3/8x D. x
Okay, when you are working with fractions, you must get a common denominator. Do you know how to do that?
o.o Oh wow i cant believe i forgot how to get a common denominator lol
Okay, well, one sec lol
lol kk :)
|dw:1420564149128:dw| Do you see what I did?
Oops, it didn't show up xD one sec again
kk :)
wait the least common denominator is 8 isnt it??? cause 8 is well 8 lol n 2 can be added up to 8 so he least common denominator is 8 right ....??? :P idk lol
