Need help with long division Will Medal and Fan!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[6\div9828\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[20\div2360\]

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

I try to solve the first exercise

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

since 6 is more little than 9828, then I write this: |dw:1420584055927:dw| in other words I wrote 0, under the divisor, and I added one zero next to 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Need a good written explanation please

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

ok! is it clear what I wrote, please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A little bit. Tell me a bit more please

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

ok!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm trying to solve for the whole answer and I have to show my work.

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

since 9828 doesn't go into 6, then we have to add some zeroes next to 6, in order to get a number greater than 9828

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

now, 60 also is more little then 9828, so 9828 doesn't go into 60. Then we have to add anoter zero next to 60 and we have to add another zero next to 0, namely: |dw:1420584492263:dw|
