A triangles area is base x height, 12 is the height and 5 is the base. The faded line is added, so you do not have to find the area of that extra bit. The answers for area ends is a 2 in the air, or squared. 5 * 12 = 60, so the answer is 60 centimeters squared. (Or "D".)
