OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

Acorns are from trees, and buds are from flowering plants, and mushrooms don't have flowers nor are they a species of tree. If it were to split in two, it would die, and that wouldn't really help when it comes to reproducing. B is correct. "Mushrooms reproduce by releasing spores. The spores will send out a tendril to find another spore. When they find each other they mate by what is known as the hook and clamp method. A tiny pipe is opened by the tendrils and genetic information is exchanged." https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20120404174819AAnUmqi
